Jurassic Coast

Charmouth, a couple of miles from Lyme Regis, is famous for its exposed cliffs where fossils abound so we thought we might try our hand. We walked the beach and Sharon soon found a small five cent sized black stone with white imprints – a prehistoric eyelash. She was very happy. I found some others, shells and what I thought was an insect wing but being a little heavy gave them to a boy who was searching with his parents. By the time we left there were people all over the beach, backs bent scratching in the pebbles. Sherborne was only a short drive and walked the streets for an hour or so and visited the abbey. It is quite stunning, orange stone on the outside and high ceilings and stained glass throughout. We stood where Jo and Kev got married! Jo’s Mum is well and we had a lovely evening chatting around the fireplace. I didn’t take one photo today!
